Kia shook her head as the smell of blood reached her on the back of the light breeze that softly blew her hair back from her face. She started off in the direction the smell indicated fearing the worst as she trailed the merciless band from a far distance. Every site she had come upon yielded no survivors. Only charred remains of buildings and butchered citizenry lying in macabre positions where they fell. Some were horribly mutated by the raging horde, others were used in ways her mind would not grasp. The bodies of the women and girls, twisted and left where they were taken would forever be etched in her mind. She walked slowly into the village in utter silence. Her tears fell slowly from her eyes as she reached out. There was nothing. No feel of people or animals met her. In a sense she was relieved but in another, her heart broke for the unrealized lives that would never reach their potential.
Kia walked through the village, not looking back. She didn’t stop until she was once again deep within the forest. A small stream ran noisily near by as she sat on the ground against a fallen tree. She let the sounds of the stream and the forest caress the images from her mind. Her body ached as she sat, trying to release the muscles that had involuntarily tensed at the sights she beheld. Cautiously, she reached out with her mind, checking for threat. It was possible that the horde could have scouts behind them as well as in front. She sat upright as she felt something faint on the borders of her mind.

Creel flew at the head of the formation, his Wing behind him. They were way behind in getting to the battlefields at Dragowyn, and it was likely he was going to be punished for it, but he couldn't help it. He couldn't leave these people to die like animals at the hands of the bandits here. They were incredibly brutal, tearing people apart......burning homes...... Creel could handle seeing someone die, even by his own hand, but when he saw those mutilated bodies.....he felt sick. And so now, they were following those bandits, ready to pounce on them at any moment they might come upon them. "Creel....There's a town up ahead, and it's been hit too," Ciraph said,"And, I can feel someone nearby.....They're alone." "All right, they might be a survivor," Creel said,"Ciraph says we have a possible survivor! I'm going to go search for them. The rest of you stay here and make sure those bandits aren't still here." He got nods from his soldiers and then he told Ciraph,"All right, Cir'. Let's go." "Hold on," Ciraph said, tucking his wings in and going into a steep dive at the ground. Just before he would have hit, he flared his wings and landed on the ground. "You want to walk?" Creel asked him. "Yes. We'll be less easily detectable that way," Ciraph replied,"In the air, we're easily visible. On the ground.....we're less visible, if only slightly." Creel shrugged. Ciraph was the one who took care of all that sneaky stuff. He had a knack for knowing how to do it. So, Creel rode on Ciraph's back as the white dragon walked through the forest in the direction of the person he felt. It didn't take long. They found a woman sitting with her back against a tree. "Hey! Are you okay?" Creel shouted out to her.

Gorluk had been tracking these humans for awhile. Their numbers had been to great fro him to deal with in the beginning, but his days of hard tracking and staying hidden from the filthy humans would now pay off. He had picked up a couple orcs who were impatiently following him but they knew if they made a single noise they were dead. He showed them the signal and a dozen orcs roared and ran down a slop to the unsuspecting bandits. They were all heavily armored and they had the advantage of surprise but they would all die and only Gorluk would survive.
He opened his large maw and a deep and rick roar that sounded as fearsome as an angry lions poured out. It blasted throughout the whole clearing. He hefted his greatsword and giving his mock troops a burst of battle lust he charged down and started to slice he bandits in half. The puny human blades were all turned aside from his thick armor and his spikes took some lives too. He was the champion in this battle and he wouldn't be out preformed.
Suddenly the sound of a dragon's roar erupted and took away Gorluk's pleasure. He knew now that this wasn't going according to plan. He just hoped he would be able to get away in time.

Kia felt no threat from the rider and the white dragon as they approached her on foot. “Yes and no.” she called back to him though she didn’t move from her resting place. “You saw the village? There was no one to help. No one survived. I follow in hopes to find one person but at the same time I pray after seeing the scenes in the other places that I do not.” She motioned to the rider to approach. “I am no threat rider.” She turned her head suddenly as she the presence of more though they were farther in the distance. "Your riders are close to the bandits as well as another force. They feel like Orks but it's hard to be sure without being closer."

Creel nodded. "Good. We've been trackign these bandits for two days. We've seen what they can do, and we wanted to put a stop to it. Do you think you could lead us to them?" It would be a tremendous help if she could lead them to the bandits, but if she didn't want to go, he wouldn't force her.

Kia sighed wearily. She used her staff to aid her to her feet. “I will help.” She said softly. She knew he had no idea the toll that it would take on her to be so close. The Orcs raw emotion alone was enough to send her reeling. The simple fact that she would be so close in an all out battle made her shudder to think about it.
“What is it you wish me to do?” Kia looked at him with quiet strength and resolve.

"Come over here. I'll help you up. You can ride with me on Ciraph," Creel said, motiong for the woman to come over to him,"By the way, what's your name?"

Kia walked slowly to the rider, shifting her pack and staff to her left. She held out a hand to him. “I am Kia.” She told him softly. “What do they call you and your beautiful dragon.” She felt the brush of emotion from the dragon as she inclined her head to him. “I beg your pardon. Handsome dragon.” She corrected herself.

Creel laughed as he felt Ciraph stiffen underneath him when Kia called him beautiful. "I'm Creel, and my partner here is Ciraph," the elf said, hoisting Kia up onto Ciraph's back in front of him,"And don't let his demeanor fool you. He tries to be mean sometimes, but he's just a big, scaly baby." "I am not!" Ciraph said. Creel laughed at Ciraph as he started walking in the direction Kia indicated the Orcs were.

Kia pulled back her ability as she felt Ciraph. She looked at the dragon as she apologized. “I am sorry Ciraph. I did not mean to offend or intrude. My ability sometimes gets away from me when feelings are strong such as those of a dragon.” Kia smiled at Creel. “What is it you wish me to do? You have been following the bandits for a while. How is it you think I can assist you better than what you are already capable of?”

"We've been moving slowly up until now because we've had to stop every now and then to check for signs of passage on the ground. However, with you leading us, we can just fly straight to them without having to stop," Creel grinned at Kia,"And taht will make it all worth-while. It could be the difference between saving a town adn being too late to save a town."

Kia closed her eyes as she reached out trying to sense the emotions of the bandits. “I am glad to help if it may help to save lives.” She took a deep breath as she began to feel everything around her. She let it out slowly as she began the painstaking process of pulling back from the myriad of emotions flooding through her. She wavered slightly, her weight shifting on Ciraph’s back as she sorted through them. She pointed in the direction of the bandits and the Orc’s following them as her face formed into a grimace.

As the orcs under his command fell Gorluk knew he wouldn't b able to kill them all in time. No matter how much he hated the thought h would need the help of the vile dragons and their riders. He growled in anger at the thought and took his frustration on the next batch of bandits. They may have been hardened soldiers but they all shivered in fear upon seeing the imposing figure of Gorluk. Standing around seven feet tall with a grisly and tangled beard and dark blood coating his dark and spiked armor. He roared and his greatsword went to humming. Oh how he loved battle.

"I feel a battle going on," Ciraph said. Creel nodded. Ever since he'd discovered his Elemental powers, he could sense things through the Earth as well, even if he wasn't in direct contact with it. However, this ability faded in and out and it had just returned for the first time since he had first decided to go after the bandits. "We need to be on our toes, Ciraph. We should be able to take care of them all ourselves. We just need to be careful," Creel said,"Kia, I can understand if you don't want to go into that battle with us. We can leave you here if you want. We'll come back to make sure you're all right once we're through."

Kia shook her head. “No. I will go. I may be needed.” She took a deep breath and swallowed hard. Closing her eyes she began to steel herself from the feelings and emotions of those locked in mortal combat. She had never been in the middle of such a conflict but she knew that things would get bad.
“Creel, I…” she paused for a moment. Her attention turned to Ciraph as the thought crossed her mind. “Ciraph…May I touch your mind to draw strength from your emotion. I need to steel myself from the onslaught that will come with the battle.”

"You may," Ciraph said, turning his head slightly to look at Kia.

Kia put her hand to the dragons smoothly scaled neck before her. She closed her eyes and drew the dragons emotion into her, strengthening the barrier around her mind. She felt it as a hard, cold wall, shielding her from the emotions of those within the fray. Kia opened her eyes and nodded to Creel. Her eyes had the steeled appearance of one there but not completely as she turned to face the scene ahead.

"All right, Ciraph, let's go! Dive in, hard and fast!" he shouted. "YES!" Ciraph said, roaring and picking up as much speed as he possibly could. They rushed over the forest, wind whistling in their ears as the group finally reaches the village to see it burned and destroyed. There were some orcs fighitng the bandits in the middle of town. The bandits were, of course, winning because they were greater in numbers. Ciraph flew over the bandits and strafed them with flames, the scnet of scorched flesh wafting up into their nostrils. Then, Ciraph landed on the ground just behind another bandit stnading alone, shooting arrows at the orcs. The bandit turned slowly, eyes wide as he saw Ciraph standing over him. Then, the large white dragon reached down, took him up in his jaws, shook him, and threw him into a burning house. The bandit had been throw so hard he went through the building.

Gorluk looked up from his battle frenzy to see a white dragon fly over his area and rain fire from above. It burnt he had a high immunity to pain and all he did was grunt in pain. " D**m dragon!" He turned from the new rider and took advantage of the flames. He hefted it in the air and with one swing he incapacitated two bandits at once. He licked the blood from his lips and enjoyed the sweet metallic taste. Then the feeling every orc warrior fights for washed over him. Battle Rage.
Gorluk was a a ball of fury killing all insight, friend or foe and all would fall before his might. His large muscles tore through bone and armor as if it was paper and his he picked up any he couldn't strike and threw them away. He was in the battle he was the battle.

Ciraph whipped around as arrows chinked off of his scales, nearly piercing his wings. He let out another loud roar and sent jets of flame at the archers on one of the nearby houes that wasn't on fire. They were quickly engulfed and ran around, flames licking at their bodies hungrily. Then, Creel slipped off of Ciraph's back. "Stay on Ciraph, Kia!" he said,"He'll protect you!" And with that, Creel ran off in the direction he felt a few more bandits pillaging the more wealthy homes of the village.
