All right, in every forums RPG, we need rules, and here are the rules for THIS RPG. So, just follow them, and everything will be just fine.
Codewords: There are codewords in the rules, in the 'races and race aging' section, and in the 'regarding elemental characters' section. All the codewords must be sent to one of the moderators and/or the admin(that's me). If you do not send the words, you will not be allowed to post.
IN REGARDS TO THREADS IN WHICH THERE ARE MULTIPLE POSTERS:
Although a strict posting order is not necessary, please be sensitive to the multiple people involved. Not everyone can be on at the same time; if there are two of you on, please have patience and wait for the other person to get on and post. If having a direct conversation in which the third party is not involved, it is okay to continue a few posts without the third party. HOWEVER posting an excessive amount (more than a few posts) without the third party is unacceptable. You will be sent a warning PM and your posts could be deleted. If the third party is unconscious, this rule still applies. After posting a few times, wait for them to post. They can't wake up if you don't let them! Still impatient? Go back and expand your posts or start a new thread!
Godmoding is typically seen as just springing an attack on someone, like “He kicked him in the chest, breaking his spine instantly.” But it also includes things like:
Knowing stuff you shouldn't – First off, in terms of God-moding, YOU CAN'T HAVE YOUR CHARACTER MAGICALLY KNOW STUFF OUT OF THIN AIR. I've seen people do this a LOT in other RPG forums, and it ANNOYS me. It irks me to no end. codeword: darklight. So, no doing this, or you'll be asked to correct it. This includes 'knowing' that a character has a knife hidden in their shoe. It's hidden and you can't see it, so don't base your actions on it.
Going from one place to another with no reason/feasible way of getting there – You can't go from one place to another in the blink of an eye. I've seen this done a lot before, too. Like "So-and-so traveled from such-and-such place to their destination" and that place they're heading to is halfway across the world. Seriously.... No doing this....or you're post will just be deleted, plain and simple.
More on knowing stuff you shouldn't – okay....I've seen this, too. It's okay for you your character to know stuff that is obvious about another character, or that your character can tell by just looking at another character, but you CAN'T know stuff like what's in their backpack, what they're hiding on their person, and that stuff. codeword: dragonwings. And no constant loopholes like "so-and-so saw a small bulge in someone's cloak, which was obviously a hidden weapon." That will be allowed only if the weapon is something bulky, such as a bow or a sword, that is hard to hide. Something like a dagger would be easily concealed and therefore impossible to detect.
Controlling others' characters - the MOST annoying thing in the world. Unless someone says it is okay, no controlling another player's character(s). If you disobey this rule, your post will be deleted and you will be sent a warning PM.
OOCing – All right, oocing is okay with me, even some that makes idle chatter and sarcastic comments for fun. However
let's keep it from getting out of hand. No ooc only posts, and, let's keep the ooc's as short as possible. When oocing, you should say what you need to and then cut it off. codeword: yellowcharge. Please no arguing on OOC - if you really have an issue with someone, please move your unpleasantness to PM's.
Post Length: Please keep every post at least a paragraph. A paragraph means at least 5 sentences - long sentences. One sentence posts are not okay and you will be asked to modify them. If you do not comply within a reasonable amount of time (as in the next time you log in) your post will be deleted. Yes, the dialogue and any significant actions are the focus of the post, but please make an effort to make it realistic. Here are some ideas of things to type about if you are at a loss:
- Surroundings - What does it smell like? Is there a breeze blowing? Colorful scenery?
- Feelings - when people say things in real life, it usually produces some kind of emotion. Happiness, sadness, anger - all these are good things to mention.
- Thoughts - how does your character feel about the person they met? Are they having personal issues? Feeling a bit down today? Tell us.
- Describe yourself - Assume that not everyone goes and absorbs your bio. Does your character have brown eyes? Is their hair long or short? Thin or thick? Wavy? What color is the skin? What clothes are they wearing? There are so many options.
Inappropriateness - Nothing completely off the wall, okay? Let's not have any blatant sex in any unmarked threads, all right? All threads with anything considered sexual will be marked with a (!) symbol before and after the thread's title. So, if you're making a thread and you KNOW there will be sex in it, save me(or the mods) the trouble and put it in there yourself, kapishe?

LISTEN TO US!!! if you don't listen to the staff, you'll get a serious reprimand. Repeatedly disobeying us will result in an immediate
filling of your warning bar, and after that, just one infraction of the rules will get you banned. Many of us are friends here, but this doesn't mean you are exempt from this rule. codeword: races When a staff member approaches you about something rule related, please respect them.
*Regarding the warning bar*
If you break a serious enough rule(something small like being a show-boater and all that won't get you a warning bar. I'm a lenient guy. I give a lot of chances) or have broken enough rules, then you will get a warning bar. Now, it will go down after a while, but if it fills up all the way, your next infraction of the rules will get you banned. Now, I hope this little policy of mine doesn't have to be used, but..... it's there in case I DO need it. So, just follow the rules and everything will be good.
