Name: Richard
Age: 86
Race: Elf
Gender: Male
Appearance: He's roughly 5'10". Weighs 287 lbs, none of it fat, all of it muscle. Wears nothing but a large, oversized brown poncho, and carries an 8 foot long stout branch. He has brown hair that is unkempt and down to his mid-back. He is a rather surly looking elf due to the fact that he has a perpetual 5 o'clock shadow, a wide stance due to his muscles, and his body is covered in elaborate tattoos. Due to the size of his muscles, he turns at about the same speed as a bull, i.e. very slowly. But, he has amazing explosive straight line speed.
Personality: A grizzled war veteran from the backwater town Hooplah, on the borderlands of the Elvish Empire. Due to his decades of war campaigns against the marauding bandit lords and their gangs he has a gruff, no-nonsense manner. His sense of humor is rather grim and morbid because he has seen many friends fall to the bandit raids. In short he has a practical straight forward way of viewing the world and people in it.
Faction: None
Weapon: The 8 foot long stout branch. By stout I mean it's average width is roughly 6 inches. Due to his military training and combat experience he is highly proficient in hand-to-hand, unarmed combat, and wrestling.
Bio: Richard is the son of a standard middle class soldier in the city guard. His family is like the rest of of the elves in Hooplah. They are all rather short for elves, the tallest rarely reaching 6' tall. Due to the centuries of non-stop fighting with the bandit lords in the area these elves have become shorter, wider, and stronger than their more elegant cousins in the heart of the Elvish Empire. However, Richard's family in particular are tougher, more muscular, and, as a result, much stronger than the other elves in Hooplah. Unfortunately, Richard's family suffers incredibly bad luck. This is evidenced by the fact that there is only one male in Richard's family at any given time. The father dies either shortly before or after the son is born. Such was the case with Richard's own father, he died minutes after Richard's birth in the middle of a Bandit raid.
Richard's father was the main frontline soldier in the city guard and with his death a new tank man was needed. So, they trained Richard to take his father's place, which he did at the age of 14. For the next 53 years Richard fought with the city guard against the Bandit Lords in a constant state of warfare. He alone is the one constant in those campaigns. They trained him to be the tank and he excelled at it. For each successful campaign and raid against the bandits, the soldiers who participated were awarded an elaborate tattoo to signify their victory.
Unfortunately, for Richard, his family's terrible luck befell him. He ended up in an awkward public situation with the Captain of the Guard's wife. Richard doesn't like to talk about it. As a result, Richard was stripped of everything he owned, clothes, money, everything, and was exiled from Hooplah. When anyone is exiled from Hooplah they are stripped of everything and then given only a large poncho and a plain staff of their choosing.
The terms of the exile is that once the exiled person has lost track of how long they have been exiled they are allowed to return to Hooplah. Richard had been in exile 6205 days when he realized that he no longer remembered where Hooplah is, so he decided screw it and stopped counting the days.
