All right, Magic works quite simply: Not everyone can have it. Mages must be born with a natural affinity to magic at the very least to be able to learn to use magic. However, all of the most talented Mages have innate magic that they were born with. Now, unlike most traditions, there are no spells tha tdo specific things. Magic is much more flexible in this universe than that. Let's say a detectoin magic that can detect life is a character's innate magic. He can use that magic to detect not only where life currently is, but also where it has been within so much time. However, he has to focus to do this and bend the magic to do what he wants within the confines of that magic's abilities(in this case, detecting life). If anyone has any questions....ask away. I'm sure it must be difficult to understand. Trust me, it's not much easier explaining it, either.

Thanks that clears some things up. One question can you explain magical weapons as I've seen with the dragon rider you made he has and enchanted halberd.

enchanted weapons can only have one form of magic on them. Take for example, Aldos's halberd: Its enchantment allows it to pierce metal armor more easily. Since it already has tihs enchantment on it, it cannot be given another without first releasing this first one.

I would have modified my last post but no one would noticed. What type of enchantments can you apply: never brakes, always sharp, turns aflame, grows longer?

well on the note of story line threads, assailant in the night?, seems to be the most forward one, or closest to present, all the others seem to be leading up to it.

'sokay, Mica. Never said Assailant was definitely the oldest, did I? I can think up a few things to fix that.
