Gorluk watched as Kia set down her little picket but his mouth contorted into disgust as he thought of eating that food. He couldn't have thought she would know he was coming though so he sighed but he picked up his spirits when his hand snapped up instinctively and caught the parcel. One long sniff from his sensitive nose he could smell the meat and the heart of the deer. His tongue cam out and licked his lips as he rapidly threw off the covering and dug into the food as he sat down his armor digging holes into the soft ground.

Kassi backed a bit away from the orc, still wary about being near him. He was obviously not friendly towards their kind. She knew it would be reciprocated if Corin ever found a good reason to attack him. The pretty white centaur remained standing, not exactly comfortable with laying down in a vulnerable position with the orc here. That was the trouble with having four legs - she couldn't just sit like Kia did, not without looking ridiculous. "No, I am fine. I had my midday meal a few hours ago," she said. It was true, but she also didn't want to eat the food of the human. She didn't know what it was, and centaurs were very wary of the unknown. Instinctively she edged closer to Corin. Centaurs preferred to stay with their own kind, and plus he offered good protection. Kia may trust the orc, but Kassi did not. She wrinkled her pert little nose at his eating habits. Meat wasn't something centaurs ate. Even the smell turned her stomach.

Corin didn't even want to acknowledge the food, he just stood and stared at the orc. His axes were crossed with his arms, each resting on his shoulders, if the orc were to move to suddenly, if he BREATHED wrong, Corin would be ready. He was sure he wouldn't be able to beat the orc in a one on one fight at close range, but he would be able to hopefully slow him down long enough for Kassi to escape. "Perhaps you should chew before swallowing that filth orc." Corin grumbled.

Kia finished eating and wrapped the food back up, replacing it in her pack. She rolled her eyes as Gorluk and Corin continued to take cheap shots at each other. “Kassi I am sorry that I did not have something more suitable to offer you.” She turned back to look at Gorluk chuckling softly as he ravaged the meat she had for him. “I am sorry if the choice of food offends you but it was all the family had at the last village I crossed through several days ago.” Her eyes drew back to Corin’s bow and she remembered the fine shot that she had seen him make. “Corin that is a magnificent bow. May I?”

occ: I've stopped Gorluk's true nature for some time but I think Shero has a plan or he wouldn't continue insulting my character.
Gorluk stood up slowly appearing as if ready to stretch. If anyone had paid any attention they would have noticed how slow each and every movement was. He licked his fingers slowly and deliberately than with through a slow stretch like the ones done after a large meal which was odd since he only ate a portion of what he really could then suddenly he pushed Kia down(sorry) not to gently then ripped out his greatsword. "Time to die pony man." Gorluk quickly judged the distance and in a few great strides by his large muscled legs he cleared the distance. Using the forward momentum he twisted and came in with a powerful swipe.

Bad idea, human. Kassi knew Corin would not be kindly towards her touching his bow. He already didn't like her. She should have just left it at the 'magnificent bow' part. The white centaur's smoky black feet danced a bit nervously as the orc stretched. He was so huge, so fearsome that Kassi couldn't help but be afraid. Though centaurs were a magnificent and intelligent race, they retained some of the animal instinct of their equine relatives. She couldn't help but be wary of the giant, predator-like orc. There was a good reason their races did not get along. So it was that she was not completely surprised when he came after them. His bulk raced across the distance and then he was upon them. With a high pitched shriek that came close to a whinny, she reared up, thin legs kicking out in fear towards the aggressor. It was a foolish move, but one borne of instinct and terror, not something well thought out.

Corin knew better than to trust the brute. As soon as the orc had began charging, Corin dropped his axes and pulled his bow arrow noched. "Perfect." Corin whispered to himself as he let fly an arrow at the back of the orc's right calf, hitting him in the thick of the muscles. This wound brought the charging hulk to a stop, forcing him to remove the arrow or stay where he stood. It was then, that a new more terrifying noise than the berserker roar of a orc came to bear. It was the shrill screaches of a dozen Mavan quickly approaching the group. Leading the front was a pair of terrified goblins carrying small brazier on the end of staffs. The Mavan appeared to be in a frenzy striking wildly at the grass and anything else before them.

Kia flew back as Gorluk pushed her to begin his assault. His action so fast she had no time to react. She felt the stone as it made contact with her temple. One brief instant of sharp pain along with bright lights appearing before her eyes and then, nothing, Kia lay still on the ground, oblivious to everything happening around her. Blood trickled down the side of her head, staining her white hair as it trailed to the ground beneath her.

occ: Wow this is hilarious I got slightly mad yesterday when I forgot something Gorluk is wearing full body armor! ROFL
Gorluk saw the hoofs and the arrow come at him so he did the only thing he could. Throwing his greatsword forward with all his strength He jumped forward and curled as quickly as he could. With his spiky and thick armor it was a hard position but he closed enough so that the arrow only penetrated the armor protecting his ribs. It got through because of the close distance and Gorluk winced but he was able to take pain and the hooves clipped his shoulder spikes and it turned his momentum to the side.

Jumping back as her hooves connected with the rock hard armor, Kassi began to flee out to the plains. A strange noise made her jump, her heart racing in fear. Mavan! The giant bugs were not real threats, for they were typically seen before they attacked and usually stayed to the high grasses. They almost never attacked centaurs, though many centaur mothers would use them as a scare tactic to keep their children close. The bugs were as large as Kassi, and though she wasn't afraid of them like she was of the orc, she knew they could do some serious damage. Those scythe-like forelegs could cut through skin quite easily, and if you happened to get in their grasp they could snap an arm or even your neck. Not a good thing at all. Shying away from the rampaging bugs, wondering why there were so many, Kassi raced out to the open plains, one of the bugs on her tail. Her high pitched shriek rang out as she galloped for her life.

Corin ran, he had no time to deal with the orc. Let the mindless murderer kill him later, Kassi was in need of help! The Mavan was closing in on her, its fury driving it faster and more aggressive than normal. Corin quickly sighted his bow in on the Mavan chasing Kassi, he was running as fast as he could, and that's why he missed. The shot flew low, and struck the Mavan in one of its many legs, it stumbled and quickly continued after her, slightly slower, but still closing in. "Focus!" Corin yelled at himself as he readied another shot.

Gorluk tumbled into the dirt his black armor clinging into the ground. He shook himself vigorously and stood up from his fall. His black eyes surveyed the scene before him. Kia off to the side was bleeding most likely because of him, the fool centaur was running after the pony girl, and the pony girl was running away from Mavan. "Scared of Mavan this is a weak race." Gorluk spat on the ground and went off to Kia.As he adjusted her body so it would be comfortable he shook his head in disgust at the horse race. They weren't even fit to fall at his sword.
Gorluk moved from Kia and as he picked up his greatsword he roared a challenge at the Mavan hoping to bring them over to him. His black eyes burning with glee as several turned to him and started a charge. "Time to die." He hefted his greatsword and began battle.

Kassi heard the gallop of hooves follow her and turned her head, wisps of ebony hair falling across her eyes. The Mavan made the bizarre shrieking clicking noise again as an arrow pierced through one of his spindly legs. She managed to pull a bit ahead, but with six legs the Mavan was speedy. As she was looking behind herself, she didn't see a small pothole rise up in front of her. One of her slender hooves planted firmly in it, causing her to pitch forward with a yelp. A twisted ankle was a terrible injury for any hooved creature. Holding up her arms, Kassi cried out as the Mavan was upon her. With the two deadly forelegs it struck at her head, mandibles clicking. Her arms soon were crisscrossed with deep cuts, her own blood staining her snowy coat. The trouble with being half horse was that it was hard to get off your back. She managed, in a kicking fury, to pull out her foreleg, but stumbling upright was hard work. So she floundered, her hooves and arms the only protection from the raging insect.

Kassi had fallen! Corin loosed 5 arrows at the mavan before he lept at it, tossing aside his bow and drawing an arrow in each hand. He jumped upon the mavan, striking it with his hooves and striking downward with the arrows at the mavan's head. He could not let her fall to some minscule little insect!
