Thalmor quickly put his clothes back on, watching Eavan as he did. He found it hard to believe that all of this wasn't just a dream. He smiled over at Eavan as he started to put his boots back on and then stood up, finished. "Goodbye for now, love," he said with a sad smile as he slowly backed up into a corner and, using the shadows there, teleported himself back to his chambers.

Eavan held her hand to him in slight wave as she watched him disappear once more into the shadows. She laid back on the bed, pulling the sheets around her as she drifted back to sleep held within the scent of him lingering in her bed and her memory held firmly within her heart. Her dreams held no rest despite the loving memory of her time with Thalmor. His face was replaced with an angelic little girl, held softly within her arms as she took the precious life from her. Tears rolled down her cheek as she slept.

A little ways off of the tower, from the edge of the woods where the tower could be seen looming up ahead, Ahlanna hoisted the cable and it's weight higher off the ground. She was covered in sweat, and black blood. She had a grim determination set into her face, one that she has had not had for over a year now. After she finished hoisting the third goblin off the ground, hung by his feet, she looked around and knodded in satisfaction. All of her training was being put to good use, for something greater than herself: she had set her mind to recue Eavan. That brought a smile to her face, caked with gore and mud. But time for happiness will come later when they were out of this scum-ridden country. 'Well, time to set to work,' she thought. She sheathed her rapier and main gauche and pulled a razor sharp dagger. She spun the three goblins on their cables so that they were facing her. She sat down and observed each one. 'Yes, that one and this one,' she pointed out mentally. Sitting up on her knees, she scooted forward and plied her knife and very very indepth knowledge of anatomy.
She first split the back of his head open, but only deep enough to pierce the skin. she quickly went to work using her knife as steadily as a doctor and seperated tissue from the skin, continuing this until she have an inverted goblins face, head, and neck in her hand. She set this on a nearby rock. She went to work on the second goblin, but this time, she started at just the base of the jaw and skull and cutting away down to the shoulders. To make this easier she had to remove his head, and easy but grisly task. She set the shoulders down next to the face on the rock; yes the colors were identical. The last goblin she stripped down, and replaced any clothes stained with blood from the other two bodies. She laid the clothes out in the sun.
This now combined with her knowledge of the height of the tower, and the other insightful things she found out from the lonely workers from the tower, and a pretty good layout of it's interior, she had a good guess of where Eavan was and where to avoid. She has given up a lot to get to this point. There wasn't even the slightest hesitation, not in Ahlanna's mind. She had retrained all of her skills back to peak condition, going to rescue a friend, was determined, and lastly but most importantly was a pissed off woman. She squatted next to the tree with one eye peering around it glaring at the tower; her single visible hazel eye smoldering with anger.

Thalmor felt his consciousness being ripped into waking by The Void. What do you want, filth? he asked The Void. What were you doing last night? a raspy, high pitched voice asked. The Void's true voice. Why? Thalmor asked,I don't know what you're talking about. You have control of my body now, not me. LIAR! I know you've been taking control of your body at night while I'm sleeping. I allowed you that privilege because it kept you out of my hair! But lately you've been doing it more often. I want to know why! I want a little more freedom. What's wrong with that? Thalmor asked. Everything! If you keep this up, I may be forced to prevent you from taking control at all! The Void said,I've just been nice up to this point because I didn't want to waste the energy keeping you firmly in your spot. Thalmor grimaced mentally. The Void was on to him now. That meant fewer or shorter night-time trips to see Eavan. Now, tell me, why is this body so tight? The muscles are cramping! The Void said. I got a workout last night, okay? I went running. The Void said, mentally glaring at The Void, who returned the mental glare. Well, be careful of what you do at night when you take control, Thalmor. If were to do anything stupid, I would be forced to destroy your mind. The Void said coldly. And just like that, the conversation was over.

Eavan awakened abruptly. Her face was wet with the tears brought on by the dream of the little one. She stirred slowly, wiping her cheeks as she walked slowly to the door. She turned the lock and pulled the heavy door open slightly to look out into the hall. The Orc guard turned to look at her naked form, shaking his head. She still was not allowed out of her room. She pushed the door shut as she turned and leaned against it. The room, in all its splendor, looked like a guest room. The guard outside the door led credence to what it really was…a prison cell. She went to the large wardrobe, taking one of the long gowns and holding it up to her. She smiled as the violet dress set off her eyes against her white mane. Eavan pulled the gown over her head, adjusting the ties to snug the bodice tightly to her. She sat before the ornate mahogany vanity, the satin covered bench was slick against the fabric of the satin dress. She picked up the large, round bristle brush and worked it through her hair. Smiling, she twisted it and pinned it up letting one strand fall down to her shoulder. It had been along time since she had dressed so. She stood, the satin of the dress caressed her skin as she spun around, the gown flowing out around her. Drawing a deep breath, she moved to sit on the brown and gold brocade chaise in front of the fireplace. She laid on her side, her arm bent beneath her head, and just watched the fire dancing merrily on the wood logs within the hearth. Eavan lost herself in her thoughts, the time passing agonizingly slow.

Ahlanna waited til the dead of night, when the moon was directly overhead. She quickly covered up the dead bodies in the bushes. So far she only ran across 4 guards, which was good since they would not be missed for quite sometime. Ahlanna stood pressed against the tower, and looked up. It loomed, a giant monolith in defiance of the Gods, as if daring anyone to challenge it, for it looked as if it were to grow forever into the sky, bridging the moon to the ground. Ahlanna spotted the window she was going for, and studied her route one last time. Looking up and around one last time, tried to swallow her anxieties and fears, then hopped up and began her long arduous climb. She wouldn't let doubt or worry gnaw at her anymore...this was for a friend, one of the few she had, and with that grit her teeth in determination and climbed more vigorously.
When she reached the window, it felt as if hours had skated by. She was sweating and a little achey from the treacherous climb. But there was no time to worry about that. Patting the bag to make sure it was all there, she drew her main gauche and rapier. She crept down the hall sticking to one side, while casting quick glances over her shoulder. She came to a corner, around which was a brighter lit hallway than the one she was currently in. She crouched, and peeked her soft hazel eye around the corner. There was a set of big, double, ornate doors in front of which were two orcs. The door cracked, allowing light from the room to spill into the hallway, one of the orcs turned and shook his head, and with that the door shut. Hopefully that disgusting orc in the town was right...

Thalmor took back control of his body and shook hsi head. The Void was sleeping again, so he was able to control his body. Thalmor would be sleeping, but he couldnt get Eavan out of his mind. He needed to see her again. So, he got up and walked over to a shadowy corner and shadow-teleported to her room...

Eavan felt Thalmor’s presence as she rose from the chaise smiling. She looked into the darkened corner of her room as she ran to him, taking him into her arms and kissing him passionately. “I hoped I would see you.” She said as she pulled back to look into his eyes.

Thalmor smiled at Eavan as he looked into her eyes. "I couldn't stay away," he said, pulling her closer,"I needed to see you." Thalmor looked around. "So, what were you doing? Anything of any importance?"

With no more sound than that of a dove's feather drifting to the floor, Ahlanna jumped from her crouch twisting her body in the air, at the same time whipping her arms in a whirl using the momentum to fling the daggers down the hall at the guards. As she was hitting the floor, she transferred the remaining moment to a forward motion. As she dashed down the hall, she cloak rippling out behind her, the sounds of her boots were reminiscent of that of a leaf falling into water. She drew her rapier and main gauche and quickly tried to gauge if the guards were wounded, dead, or dying. She quickly closed the gap between her and the doors. '17 heartbeats,' she mentally counted. And with that she was on top of the orc guards or ,hopefully in their case, their bodies.

Eavan melted into Thalmor’s arms as he drew her close. “Well I was thinking about running to town for a bite but seeing and Nancy and Melinda out there won’t let me out I decided to get all dressed up and stay home.” She smiled as she pressed her lips to his. “I needed to see you to.” She told him as she kissed him passionately. Her hands gripped his back with her rising desire as she trailed them down to grasp his rounded cheeks and pulled him tightly to her.

The Orcs dropped to the ground right in front of Ahlanna, the daggers sticking out of them, one in one orc's neck the other in his arm. ********** Thalmor turned as he heard a thump outside the door, like bodies hitting the floor. "What was that?" he asked, turning around and facing the doors.

Removing the daggers and wiping the blood off on their clothes, she sheathed then both. Gripping her weapons tightly, looking up and down the halls again, she slipped her main gauche into the door. Prying the door slighty open with her weapon, she readied the other. She put an eyeto the crack, lit from a fire within the room, and scanned across the room. There was movement on the other side of the room. Quickly slipping into the door and sliding it shut slowly, she crept across the room, keeping to the wall for an easily defensive position. Soon she was crouched next to a piece of furniture, and what she saw there made her take a sharp intake of breath, the loudest sound she made all night. For the first time in a long time, she felt hot, burning, tears coming to her eyes, for happiness or the pain she felt in her heart.

Thalmor saw a woman enter the room, staring at them with tears in her eyes. Thalmor couldn't tell who she was or why she was there. "Who are you?" he asked her, not necessarily hostilely, but with a certain amount of command in his voice,"How did you get past the guards?" He knew that if this woman were here to attack, he'd be at a disadvantage. She likely had weapons and he had none. Which was why he hoped it wouldn't come to a fight.....

Standing, Ahlanna wiped her tears with the back of her hand, and smiled,"I came to save you, but it appears that you need no saving. I will not force you to make a choice." She scowled at Thalmor,"As for you, I don't know who you are, and I don't care, but you speak of me and you're tongue will be used to scrub my boots." With that, she turned and touched the rope coiled around her waist to make sure it's still there.

Eavan’s eyes widened as her smile did on her lips. “Ahlanna!” she called in hushed tones. She touched Thalmor lightly squeezing his arm as she rushed forward to her friend and took her tightly in her arms. She kissed her lightly on the cheek as tears began to fall from her eyes. “I didn’t think anyone would come. They told me if I was captured I was on my own.” She let go, wiping the fallen tears from her face. “I can’t believe you came.” She turned to look at Thalmor. “This is my friend…Ahlanna. Ahlanna this is…” she broke of in mid-sentence. She looked at Thalmor, slightly panicked as to how much to reveal to the woman she trusted with her life.

Thalmor smiled as he watched the reunion between the two friends. When Eavan turned to him, about to introduce him to Ahlanna, and then paused, he picked right back up where she stopped. "I'm Thalmor Dalk," he said, giving a pleasant smile,"Now, close the door and drag those orcs' bodies in here. We dont want a patrol to see them out there."

Ahlanna did as he asked. Then she turned and offered up a weak smile to Eavan,"I was hereto save you, but I can that you need no saving." Holding up a hand,"Now, don't make any rash decisions,if you are truly happy here, don't let me take that from you. And you," directing her gaze at Thalmor," I don't know who you are or even care for that matter, but I haven't seen Eavan smile like that since I've first met her. I believe that you should have a say in this matter." With that, she broke into a grin,"But remember, I'm playing in this tower on limited time."

Eavan smiled at Ahlanna. “It is so good to see you again but I’m afraid things are not so simple.” She motioned to the chaise and the two oversized chairs near the fireplace. Her smile faded as she looked at her friend. “I’m afraid it is not that simple.” She sat on the chaise, her hands folded as she gazed down into her lap. She raised her eyes to see Thalmor and gave him a small smile as she turned back to her friend. “I would give anything to be able to complete my mission and leave but things are not a simple as I thought. I must remain a prisoner in order to help a friend.” She closed her eyes, thinking back to life with the Void compared to life with Thalmor.

"What it is, to put it bluntly," Thalmor said,"Is I'm tied to The Void. If The Void dies, then I die along with him. However, if I die, The Void will remain unaffected. So, we're trying to find a way to sever that bond he set up when he took over here." Thalmor hoped that this Ahlanna woman believed his stretch of the truth enough to not realize that he was the Great Elemental of Darkness.
