Kia smiled softly as she looked deeply into Shero’s mesmerizing blue eyes. “It is good to wonder about such things but I am no witch. I am but a simple woman following some elusive path that leads to an end I can not know. The fates carry me along my way bringing interesting opportunities and acquaintances as I go.”
She laid down on her side, her head resting against her hand. She absently twirled a length of her hair around a finger as she thought. “Who is Kira? I’m sorry Shero but you spoke her name while I healed you. Is she your mate?” Kia could still feel the strength of his feelings from when he had spoken her name. “You felt very strongly about her.” She searched his face as she waited for him to speak. There was something about him. She felt him strongly without effort but something else was happening. She had been able to draw strength from the force of his feelings. It had fortified her, revived her. Somehow she was meant to be here with him at this moment. Kia had given up fighting these feelings long ago. Every time she had the feeling it meant that the fates had something for her to learn. Every person she encountered, every deed she did had a lesson attached.

Shero grunted. Kira... always came back to her. "She was no one. Just a foolish young girl that wanted to visit a couple of performers to express her enjoyment of the show. Too bad for her the performers had a cruel owner. If you must know, she saw the pitiful state of a young dragon and a young boy beaten for no particular reason. She attempted to help and ended up... well... yeah." The story brought back too many memories. "So she is no one, just a memory."

Kia listened as he spoke. She stopped playing with the length of hair and closed her eyes. His feelings washed over her as she lay. “She is not just a memory.” Kia said in a quiet voice. “She will not be a memory until you acknowledge your feelings and let her lie in peace.” She reached out, placing her hand softly on his arm. “I can help with that as well if you wish.” She looked at him with sincerity. Her brown eyes held him within their gaze. The flames from the fire lit the golden flecks within them making them appear to dance.

"Help, heh. I doubt even someone like you could." Shero stared off into the fire. "All that matters is that that little girl and others like here get to live some measure of peace." Shero glanced over at Kia. "So what are your plans? To turn me to some saint? Ha... hands are already to stained."

Kia laughed softly as she shook her head. "No. I have no plans and no one is past redemption. Besides, saints are over rated. There is no such thing as one who is totally good or totally evil. Everyone walks a line. Even me." She let her breath go in a heavy sigh. "Peace is a commodity that men must take in small measure whenever they can find it. It too is fleeting." She closed her eyes for a minute then returned her gaze into the fire. "I would like to help if I could but I can resign myself to just being here. What are your plans Shero?"

"Let her lie in peace... no. I let her lie as ash that day, as well as the rest of the town. None of them deserved that." Shero said as he gazed into the fire. "But you, what game do you play at? Are you trying to turn me into some saint?" Shero grinned and let out a chuckle, "My hands are too stained for such a lofty goal."

Kia laughed softly. "No I have no use for saints Shero and as for hands, they can be washed eventually." Kia sat up as she looked deeply into Shero's eyes. "I play no games. Time is to short and I have no patience for games. One thing I know for certain in this life. You take what joy you can when you can. Is it so hard to believe that I may actually enjoy your company?"

Shero could not help but chuckle. "Who doesn't enjoy the company of an enterainer?" If she was playing at some game or not id didn't matter. She was persuasive, and honestly... nothing worse could happen to him. "Fine then, what makes time so short, and what is it you plan to do to me?" Shero said with a grin.

Kia let out a small sigh. “Life makes time short. Life is fragile and can be gone in an instant.” Kia smiled. “I have never shared company with an entertainer. At least not that I remember.” She paused for a minute as she thought back. “No. There was one once when I was young. My mother took me to see them. I don’t remember much about the time though. All I remember is that I was very ill or something for a time. My family never spoke of it and I never thought to press the matter.”
Kia shook the faint memory from her head and turned back to Shero. “I plan to be your friend if you allow it. That is my only plan…for now at least.” She said with a hint of coyness to her voice. “As for the rest…let the fates decide.”

"Hmm... I do have to keep my eye out then for what other things you may have in store then for later." Shero chuckled, "I wonder which of us needs to worry about what the other will do more." With that Shero laid back and stared up at the stars. Flamie probably wouldn't be back till the morning, after that they could probably get the young girl to a nearby village without too much trouble. "So where will you go after here?" He asked.

Kia laughed softly. "I am harmless. Kyra, however, can be very protective but she has been a good companion through the years." Kia joined Shero, matching his movements and rolling to her back to look up into the night sky. She smiled as she saw one star shining more brightly then the others. She moved closer to Shero laying her head close to his. She pointed up so that he could see. "That star right there." she said with a smile on her face. "It looks like as good a star as any to follow, don't you think?"

"So you shall follow the star... but what will you do? Where should I travel?" Shero scoffed, "Retrive the elementals, what a woderous task indeed. Wander aimlessly attempting to find individuals scattered throughout the lands." Shero looked over at Kia. "Do you always live so care free? How long till your jorneys bring you to the heart of this war? What then?"

Kia smiled up at the shining star. “I will keep going on. And it sounds like you do have a wondrous task ahead of you. Why must everything have an obvious purpose?” Kia rolled over to see him better. “In answer to your question, yes…I always live this carefree. I have skirted the fringes of this war and even ventured into the heart a time or two. I will do as I have done before, help whoever I can. I do not fear death if that is what you are asking Shero. Death is but the start of another journey.”

Shero couldn't help but grin. "You are a unique person Kia, truely a unique person. Though I do believe I interupted your sleep earlier." Shero didn't know why, but he couldn't shake the concern for this odd woman. "I would rather you avoided death anyways, I'm not too sure it is another journey."

Kia grinned at him. “I’m fine. I don’t require much sleep and I have been resting well.” She smiled a little wider. “I would also prefer to avoid death. If it is not another journey then no matter…once dead I would no longer worry about it.” She laughed softly as she moved her hand to lie on her hip. “So what will you do after leaving the girl? Where will your journey take you?”

"That is a very good question... I don't know. I have no real timeline to get anything done. I suppose I could go anywhere... would you rather I follow a star?" Shero grinned as he pointed back up at the same star Kia had pointed to. "Like that one over there? It looks like a pretty good star." Shero looked back over at Kia, "So I don't know, you seem fairly knowing when it comes to traveling, where should I go? What should I do?" His eyes smiled as mischeviously as he found his own mouth smiling. This was probably the first time he had actually smiled without putting on an act or before committing some attrocity upon others.

Kia’s eyes seemed to dance with the light of the stars in the sky. “Why not?” she asked softly as she looked at him. “That star is an excellent star to follow.” She turned an eye to him, her brow raised in playfulness. “Travel with me then. You said it yourself. You have no timeline and can go anywhere. The journey could prove…filled with possibilities if one just pays heed to them.” Her lips curled at the corners as she moved even closer to him. She moved to whisper in his ear, her hair falling softly onto his chest as the heat from her breath fell warm against his skin. “Many possibilities.” She pulled back to look into his eyes, pausing briefly.

"Very well then, I suppose I will travel with you for a while. I think Flamie could use the company." Shero said with a grin. "I must say though, this is quite the bedside mannerism you have." said Shero as he placed a finger on Kia's nose. "Do you treat all your patients so... thoroughly?" This woman will be the death of me, Shero thought to himself.

Kia smiled as she moved her mouth, her teeth nipping at Shero’s finger. “No,” she said softly. “Never felt so inclined before now.” She pulled back, her mouth and eyes held a playfulness. “Do you find disfavor with my bedside manner?” She smiled a little wider as she looked at him. “I am glad to have you with me for a while.”

Shero could not help but smile. It seems things were going quite well for himself, he would put off actively achieving the Void's agenda in favor for... more interesting pursuits. "Then let us enjoy our time together for a while." said Shero before he pulled Kia close to himself and rubbed his nose against hers. "I would have to say that no, I do not find dissfavor with your bedside manner." Shero chuckled thinking what Flamie would think of this new turn of events. It should prove to be interesting.
