As The Void pulled his mace from the goop that was once Squee, a sound was heard, some thought it sounded like Squee spouting his own name. That was the end of the rude little jester named Squee.

Eavan jumped back as the goblin fell between her and the Void. She watched in half amusement as the odd creature spoke his verse, dancing around in her dress. Her eyes narrowed as she saw the Void’s mace turn the overly jubilant goblin to a pile of quivering mush. “Now why did you have to go and do that?” she asked. “I always wanted a sister to share my clothes with.”

The Void laughed and said,"Well, Squee was always useless anyway. If I hadn't done that to him today, I would have at some point. He was always in the way." Thalmor struck out at the woman with his scythe, bringing his mace around after it....

“You know Thalmor,” Eavan said as she ducked and twisted to avoid the scythe then flipped into a back handspring to avoid the mace following fast behind it. “I think I might have like you in another place and time.” She continued to flip until she got close to the wall then sprang from it to somersault over the Void’s head landing behind him. She tapped him on the rear as she spun, increasing the distance between them. Her eyes stared at him, mischief and an almost elated look within them. Her heart beat quickly with the feel of the adrenaline coursing through her body. Eavan smiled. She loved this feeling, lived for it. The feeling that death could come at any second was as intoxicating as any drink or aphrodisiac know to man.

Thalmor turned around as the woman danced around his attacks, sending a wave of solid darkness at the woman, intending to knock her off. The darkness shot between then like a strip of nothingness that tore the world in two, and Thalmor smiled as he loosed it at the woman........ .......It was so good to be back........

Eavan’s eyes went wide as she felt fear for the first time. She reached out with her mind searching for any possibility, any advantage she could find. She felt a strange sensation within her and she raised a hand as if to ward off the darkness coming toward her. The pitcher behind her on the tray shattered as the water came forth to shield her. The water hardened, deflecting the darkness around her. Eavan looked at the Void as her brow raised. “Now this is definitely an interesting development in the scheme of things wouldn’t you say?”

The Void watched, amazed at what this woman was doing. An Elemental had walked right into his lair. It was all just too easy. "Well, I'll admit, that it is," he said,"And it certainly changes things. GUARDS!" At his command, dozens of guards filed into the room. "Apprehend this woman. If she resists, incapacitate her however you can, but make sure you do not kill or, or every last one of you will die." At that, the Orcs surged forward, rushing the woman while The Void moved back over to sit down on his throne.....

Eavan let the shield of water loose in front of her, smiling as it splashed upon the stone floor. She took a deep breath as she shook her head. “Now, now Thalmor…that’s not playing fair at all.” Eaven closed her eyes as she felt the rush of water outside of the window. She knew they were stories up but wondered. She reached with her mind and brought a slim stream of water up from the moat below. She let it fall onto the floor then bent down with her hand to it. The smile crossed her lips as fast as the thought crossed her mind. She turned the water to ice and laughed hysterically as the large orcs began to slide and fall over each other in attempt to catch her. She was especially tickled as one rather large orc jumped over a pile of them in his path. As he landed on the other side, he lost his footing and slid, arms and legs flailing wildly, right towards the Void.
Eavan looked toward the Void and then the window. She gave a wave of her hand as she took a bounding step toward freedom. “Later Void. Been a blast!” As her foot landed she also began to slide out of control. She tried to glide upon it but one of the fallen orcs caught her foot and sent her crashing into the wall. Eavan lay in a crumpled heap as she felt the darkness overcome her. Her last thought was not something to be spoken out loud.

As the orc slid toward The Void, he slowly stood, scythe in hand, and sliced him to pieces before he reached him, his body falling to pieces as he did so. Then, anger flashing in his eyes even as he watched the woman fall into the wall, knocking her unconscious, he turned to look at the other orcs there. "GET UP YOU BUMBLING IDIOTS!" he shouted,"I SHOULD HAVE ALL OF YOU KILLED FOR THIS TRAVESTY! CAPTAIN!" The captain of The Void's guard came up, making sure to keep his footing so he didn't endup in the same boat as his men, and bowed to The Void. "Yes, my Lord and Sovereign?" the orc asked,"What is it you need of me?" "Give these orcs the most vile and lowly job there is," The Void said,"If they cannot capture a single assassin, then what good are they in my guard? Now, begone, and take these fools with you! Lock the woman up in a cell and do what you will with her, but do. Not. Kill. Her. If she is killed, I will personally see to the death of everyone one of your men and then you yourself. Am I understood, captain?" "Yes, My Lord and Sovereign," the orc said,"Is that all, my Lord and Sovereign?" "Yes! Now, go!" The Void said, sitting in his throne again, putting a hand to his head, which was starting to hurt from the whole travesty.....

Eavan began to awaken slowly. Her hand immediately rose to her head. The pain throbbed as she rubbed lightly. “dang ice! I never have liked ice. What was I thinking!” She stood up and looked around the cell for a way out. The walls and doors were thick and solid. She sat on the floor resting her head against her fist. The power she felt in the throne room was new. She had no idea how she had been able to do what she did. She had no idea what she was capable of. She laid back on the cold stone floor, closing her eyes while her mind worked over a myriad of possibilities.

The Orc opened the doorway into the cell block to allow the captain to pass. He walked to the door of the cell that held the woman they had captured a few hours ago. She was sitting against the wall and looked up as he approached. "Awake now, are we?" he said with a malicious grin as he unlocked the door to her cell and stepped inside,"Good. That'll just make it even more fun." He walked over to her and grabbed her by her throat, lifting her off of the ground up against the wall. "My Lord and Sovereign The Void gave me permission to do hat I want with you as long as I do not kill you............. ".......And I believe I'll have fun with that."

Eavan watched as the large Orc came slowly to her. Her hands grasped at his large hand as he lifted her from the ground. She knew his words were meant to cause her fear but she would not let him see it. “You can try but I don’t think it will be fun.” She said as she struggled against him. She kicked out at the Orc but the reach of his arm gave him advantage over her. Eavan spat at the beast as she searched for an advantage. Every situation had an opening to be exploited. They just had to be recognized.
Eavan glared at the Orc as she bated him. If she could keep him talking, perhaps the opportunity for escape would present itself. “I wonder…” she thought out loud. “I have heard that Orcs make up for in stature what they lack in…other areas.” She smiled as the captain loosened his grip around her neck just enough. She managed to grab his thumb, twisting it violently back until his grip on her neck was loose. Eavan dropped to the floor and rolled. She stood facing him across the small cell. Her advantage was short-lived as she realized all that she had managed was to evade him for the moment. She backed against the opposite wall as her eyes searched out around the cell. “I guess the Void was pretty upset with you and the rest of your guard. Sorry bout that love. Didn’t mean to make you look like idiots but then again, nature always wins out.”

"You little-" The orc captain said, unable to finish his sentence he was so angry. He drew a club and walked towards the woman and swung at her with every ounce of his strength, connecting with her side. The orc captain grinned as he heard what he was fairly sure the sound of breaking bones.

Eavan saw the captain’s anger rise. She grinned to herself but cursed under her breath as she saw the club coming at her. Her ploy was working for the moment. Now the captain seemed intent on just beating her whereas before…. She reached within her, trying to call on the power she haphazardly stumbled across in dealing with the Void but nothing answered her call. She began to move, trying to put some distance between her and the club. She managed to evade enough to lessen the blow but it still struck her with enough force to send her crashing into the wall. The unmistakable crack echoed within the cell as she felt a blinding pain strip her of her vision for a moment. She cried out as she tried to draw a breath knowing all too well the sound and feel of a broken rib. She closed her eyes as she gripped the stone of the wall to stand.
“Ah. Captain. Loose your temper did you. Careful. A broken rib can surely cause you more trouble than me. One shift of the bone and you’d be joining Squee for sure.” Eavan moved slowly, she had to. Her voice taunted in short rasps and she had to guard the area to draw the slightest of breath. Every movement felt like someone stabbing her deep and twisting the knife for good measure. Eavan could not stop herself though. “C’mon captain. You know what they say…size doesn’t matter. It’s how you use it.”
Eavan raised her head enough to look into the captain’s eyes. Her hair hung in her face masking her from him slightly. She looked at through the sweat soaked strands clinging to her skin. “Sorry to tell you love but they lied.” Eavan sneered as she gave a short little smirking laugh.

"You think so?" the captain said, throwing the club off to one said and walking up to Eavan,"Well, let's see if we can't close that mouth of yours, hm?" He brought his hand back and sent a punch at her face, connecting with her right under her chin....

Eavan felt the snap of her head then the impact with the wall behind her. Again her sight was taken by a flash of white light blocking out all other vision from her sight. The pain began in her head, throbbing in unison with her broken rib. She closed her eyes as her vision slowly brought focus back to her eyes. Her hand swiped blood from her lip where she had bit it from the impact of the blow to her chin. The smirk returned to her face. “Tut, tut captain. I am not one of your guards with a glass jaw.” She spat blood from her mouth to the ground at his feet. Eavan straightened herself despite the pain. She looked the Orc in the eye and with a speed she should not have had at the moment, delivered a sharp blow to the captains adam’s apple. She stepped aside as the stitch of pain pulled her to the right. She stumbled somewhat but caught herself before she fell to the ground.

The orc captain coughed from the blow to his throat, but as he saw Eavan lose her balance, he lashed out, catching her in he head, by her hair, and throwing her face-down onto the ground. He put his knee in the middle of her back and then pulled her head up and then slammed it into the ground again. "Now, listen to me, wench....you're going to say how you got into this tower.........the pain won't stop until you do........got it? "No SPEAK!" And he slammed her face into the floor again....

Eavan still did not cry out. Even with the giant orc’s knee pinning her to the ground. She struggled beneath the weight of him. Her lungs fought for air. She felt the warmth of the blood streaming down her face, mingling with tears of pain from her eyes. She held up a finger as he slammed her head into the ground a third time. Her face already began to swell. She could barely see through the pain and swelling of her eyes. She looked like a bloody pulp already. She turned what vision she had to the captain once more as she moved her hand to lie over the broken rib. She cleared the blood from her mouth on the stone floor then spoke in a raspy, airless voice. “Go to hell.” Eavan took her hand and with a swift motion, jabbed the jagged edge of the fractured bone deep and hard. It snagged the artey after puncturing through the lung. She smiled again as the blood rose up from within her, spilling out of her mouth in bursts as she coughed. She felt the embrace of darkness take her. The pain of her action was so intense that it drove her past the ability to recognize it any longer. Soon the sweet hand of death would take her into its peaceful embrace. Soon it would be over.

"Somebody get a healer in here!" the captain said. Within a few moment, there was a healer in there, healing Eavan's wounds. "She'll live, sir," the healer said,"But she'll be unconscious for a while." The captain nodded. "Very well. Good job." He left the cell behind the healer and closed it and locked it behind him. They would finish dealing with her later.

Eavan felt the dull ache of healed injuries within her. ‘dang!’ she swore as she slowly opened her eyes. Her body was weary but whole again. “Great job girl now they have a fresh new canvas to work on.” She shook her head as she rose slowly. Her thoughts began to race as she frowned. Why had she been able to touch the power before but not now? What was she missing? She moved slowly about the cell, pausing at the cell door to look out at the guards in the corridor. One stood outside her cell. The rest of the corridor seemed deserted. Perhaps she could use this guard to her advantage. She walked back across the cell and leaned against the wall. They would be back soon. She closed her eyes as she stood, thinking about the power that she had felt. It was connected to water. Everything she had done was tied to the element. She took a deep breath and entered a light meditation but kept ear peeled for the captains return.
