The Void walked through the corridors of the tower, feeling like he hadn't gotten any sleep at all. The orc captain was at his side, a large axe strapped to his back along wit ha quiver of arrows and a bow. They walked up to Eavan's room, and the guard opened the door and let them in. "It's time to wake up!" The Void said, ripping the covers and blankets off of the woman as she lay sleeping in her bed,"It's time for your first lesson! Wake up!"

Eavan rolled over slowly and opened her eyes as she stretched gingerly. She eyed the captain playfully. “Well hello handsome. Mmmm what a wonderful site to wake up to.” She turned her attention to the Void and nodded as she rolled to the edge of the bed and sat up. She stood and walked to the wardrobe and grabbed a pair of boots. She sat on the bench as she pulled them on. Rising, she addressed the Void. “Thank you for the bath and the clothes.” That was all she said as she moved to stand by the door.

"You still dont know how to show proper respect, I see," The Void said, eyeing her. "My Lord and Sovereign, shall I show her how to proprely address you?" the captain asked. "No, leave her be for now. I want her untouched for her first lesson," The Void said. Then, he turned to Eavan and said,"Follow me. I shall lead you to where you will have your lesson." Without another word or even waiting for her to get up, The Void walked out of the room and into the corridors beyond, turning right to walk along its length....

Eavan drew a deep breath. That had been stupid. Careless even. She would have to be much more careful. “Yes My Lord and Sovereign” she said as she turned and followed the captain and the Void through the corridors. She paid careful attention to her surroundings as she walked but was careful to keep her eyes focused ahead of her on the Void.

The Void led the captain and Eavan through the tower, down several floors and through many winding corridors until eventually they came to a large, circular room with a fountain in the middle. The fountain was full of water. "This is where your first lesson will take place," The Void said,"You lesson: To defeat the captain here in comat using only water. If you disarm him, you may not use his weapons against him." The Void looked from the captain to Eavan and back, then grinned maliciously and said,"Now that that's out of the way, why don't we get start, hm?"

Eavan looked around the room. She took in everything. Which was nothing. The room was totally bare except for the large fountain in the middle. Eavan looked at the captain and smiled. “Looks like we’re going to dance love. It won’t be as fun for you as yesterday though I’m afraid.”

The captain sneered at Eavan without a word. It was a condescending grin that said everything without any words at all needing to be said. Then, he drew his bow and strung it, pulled an arrow, and nocked it. "Die, wench," he said as he loosed the arrow striaght at Eavan's heart....

Eavan waved her hand in front of her as she saw the arrow coming for her heart. As she made the movement she twisted to her left, the water flowing before her creating an impenetrable shield. The arrow hit against the clear, smooth shield of hardened water and fell harmlessly to the ground. With her left hand cast toward the captain, twenty razor-sharp, pointed spikes harder than the toughest steel shot forward toward the large orc. She didn’t stop there. She lowered a hand into the fountain and pulled out a curved clear blade, held in the center and within the other hand a sword. She tapped them on the stone to test their strength and fell into a fighting stance as she waited to see if the captain survived her spikes.

The captain immediately brought his axe out, using the head to guard his body from the spikes. They glanced off of the tough metal of the axe-head, a few of them managing to clip him on the legs and arms. However, he didn't suffer any major injuries from those. Then, he brought the axehandle into his hands, and rushed at Eavan, bringing it up and over his head and down onto the water shield, the axehead penetrating it and sticking.

Eavan leapt as the captains axe lodged within the water shield. She tumbled over the captains head, the curved blade lashing out at the back of the orc’s neck. She landed softly behind him driving the short sword forward toward his back.

The captain felt a sting on the back of his neck and when he turned to find what it was, he was skewered through the chest by Eavan's water-sword. He looked down for a moment, and then back up before staggering backward and then falling over to the floor, dead. The Void clapped from where he'd been watching the show, grinning a malicious grin. "Very good," he siad,"Very good. You must have been practicing on your own last night. That is very commendable. Go back to your room now. I will come to you when it is time for your next lesson."

Eavan breathed heavily with the exertion and power she had used. She rose to stand tall as the captain fell before her. She turned and lowered her head to the Void. “Thank you My Lord and Sovereign.” She walked back through the towers down to the corridor and back to her room. She went to the washroom and ran the bath. She pulled the blood soaked clothes from her and lowered herself into the tub. She sank down, holding herself under the water as she let the sounds muffle around her. The water felt amazing and she felt at peace beneath the water’s surface. Eavan closed her eyes as she lost track of time. She shot upright as she saw that it was now dark outside. It was still light when she got into the tub. She had breathed underwater. Eavan began laughing, almost hysterically as the realization hit her.

Thalmor woke up in his chambers. The Void was asleep, but his body was starting to feel the effects of no rest. So, he stayed sitting on his bed and using his power to create an illusion to send to Eavan instead. It materialized in her bedroom area. He heard sounds coming from the bathroom area, so he headed in there. That was where he saw her sitting in the tub taking a bath. "Hey, Eavan," he said,"I'm glad you survived your fight with that orc."

Eavan looked back over her shoulder smiling as she saw Thalmor. “I’m happy to see you to.” She told him with a large grin on her face. “I can breathe under water!” She rose from the tub, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around her. She moved to him and her smile faded a little as she saw the shimmer of illusion. She motioned out to the bed chamber and walked to the wardrobe. “What shall it be tonight Thalmor? Talk or train?”

Thalmor nodded and grinned back at Eavan as she said she could breathe underwater. "Oh, believe me, I know all about that," he said with a laugh. But, when he saw her smile fade a little at seeing he was just an illusion this time he said,"I'm sorry.....but every time I control my body while The Void is sleeping, my body doesn't get any rest. Right Now I'm exhausted. I may even end up falling asleep unintentionally. It was just easier this way." He sat down on the bed next to her and smiled over at her, shrugging. "I don't know. I really wouldn't mind talking. I've had nobody to talk to for....well, just about 1000 years, really. "So, tell me about yourself, Eavan. I know almost nothing about you."

Eavan looked at Thalmor, her smile returning. “I understand.” She shifted on the bed pulling her leg beneath her. “Well my story is not so interesting. It’s simple by far compared to others. My mother was a dancer for a regal troupe that traveled the lands entertaining the nobility mostly. Father was one of the royal guard at the elf palace. The human and elf dance troupe performed at the palace where my father saw my mother dance and fell in love with her. She taught me to dance, he taught me to fight and the use of weapons. I found fighting to be much like dancing.” She smiled again and closed her eyes for a moment. “I don’t know what else to tell you. I like watching the sunset and the moon rise. I like the breeze blowing softly on a warm spring day. I like chocolate and milk.” She laughed. “I like to say and do things that make people stop and think.” She turned back to Thalmor. “What about you?”

"Me?" Thalmor asked,"Heh, my story's not all that glamorous either. I was born to normal human parents. I lived a normal life up until I discovered my elemental powers. I was, quite honestly, probably the most boringly normal person on the face of the planet. "That is, until I discovered I could control darkness. Then....I start experimenting with it every day at every free moment. That's how I learned everything about it." He shrugged. "Then, I left with the other Elementals," he said,"And, just so you know, I like sunrises more than sunsets. They're just so much better. "And, I like looking at the stars, too. Especially when I have someone with me....." Thalmor looked over at Eavan. "Is that enough for you, or do you want to know more?"

Eavan smiled wider. “I would love to here more. I would beg to differ on the sunrise though. While beautiful and magnificent, I find the sunset gives way to the mysteries of the night. The darkness holds the most amazing gift within it. The hope for a new day.” She breathed a deep breath as she looked at Thalmor. “I doubt seriously that you were ever a boring, normal person. Your eyes hold a mischievous quality within them.”

"Well, I'll admit I got into a lot of trouble over pranks and jokes," Thalmor said, grinning,"But, that's normal for little boys, isn't it? "Anyway, I like the darkness, but sometimes it just kind of creeps me out! Yes, I know it must sound weird coming from the Elemental of Darkness, but when I first had my power, i could hardly stand to be in the dark by myself!"

Eavan chuckled softly, not meaning to make light of his words. “Yes it does sound strange.” She shook her head softly. “I have always found the darkness to be a comfort. The most wonderful things occur in the darkness as well as some horrible but overall…the good outweighs the bad. I sit outside in the still shadow of night. Close my eyes and listen. The silence is slowly over come by the feeling of freedom. The night allows flight for all things that could be. It allows the soul to dream unfettered by the confines of what can be seen in the light. In the darkness, the possibilities of what could be are endless.” She shook her head again. “That probably sounds strange doesn’t it?”
