Gorluk listened to the quick summary of her life and shook his head. "So this is what you call talk? I can assume that with a good look from you, I want some good stories!" Gorluk roared his last words out in what was to orcs a thing to show excitement yet he forgot to humans that sounded like a threat. He shrugged and snickered. "Unless you want a passionate battle story from me!" He motioned to his many, many scars showing he had a lot to tell.

Kia shook her head as Gorluk spoke. "I thank you for the excitement you show me but I'm afraid I have no exciting tales to tell." She looked at his many scars as he spoke of passionate battle stories. She nodded in response, steeling herself from his emotions. "Please tell of your battles Gorluk. I would like to hear your tale."

Gorluk grumbled as he had hoped she would try to tell him some exciting tales. He though wasn't angry for long since living the battles first was great and living them one more wouldn't be to bad. He looked over his various scars trying to see which one to tell about. Then his eyes settled on his largest one it was hard to see since it was on his back and it was mostly covered by his dark armor even though he stripped some of it off. "How about I tell you of my becoming the warlord."Gorluk settled back and got comfortable as he began to spin his tale.
Most orcs weren't gifted in speech or story telling but a good battle story oh not many races could compare. "It was a day I can never forget since it is the day that changed my life. I was around 17 and already the pride of my people. I was said to be blessed by the gods and since I was larger than all my comrades most believed in that." Gorluk sighed at that part as he thought upon his fate now. Then he went back into his story. He told of going to a feast in his honor to which he would be given the honor of being the leader of the elite guard, but it went all wrong. The warlord(king) had offended him in a way that couldn't be ignored. He had foolishly made a joke about if he was ready for the job since he was so young. Gorluk responded the way his kind always did with a roar. The challenge was made and the fight was to began at sunset. They made their preparations for the battle and a large crowd was there waiting before either got there. He growled slowly as he remembered how his people had wanted to watch the blood lust then and then they turned their backs on him when he wanted to bring them glory. Then he told of the battle it was over in a few minutes but it felt like forever to Gorluk he told of how the warlord landed a great blow on his back with his sword and thats how he got his scar and how he chopped the warlords neck off.
When he finished Gorluk felt his chest heaving and his eyes slightly hazed. He didn't even know he had become so enthralled in his own story. It had filled him up till he had remembered all the excitement and thirst of the battle. He remembered how it felt to have his skin ripped from his back but then he stopped. He then remembered a human in front of him had trouble with others emotions.

Kia’s eyes were alight with the excitement of his rousing tale. She clapped her hands as she smiled. “Well told Gorluk. I felt as if I were there watching it unfold.” She looked at him and waved her hand. “Don’t worry about your emotions. I have shut them out though I admit that you are a very hard person to shut out.” She smiled again. “So where are you going alone?”

Gorluk smiled in appreciation for the compliment. Orcs loved to see people enjoy there battle stories since the more applause the greater your accomplishment. "I plan on moving around but not heading in any certain direction killing where I chose to." He didn't feel like he should hide that he was going to kill the people he met since he guessed she had already figured that out. Gorluk felt a small ache in his muscles from the time sitting down and stood till he reached his immense height and stature and did a quick stretch.

Kia frowned only slightly. "Why do you kill them? What have they done? Have they wronged you in some way?" She didn't understand violence. Well, she did understand violence, but senseless violence? She just could not find reason within it.

Gorluk raised his eyebrow in surprise. He had thought this women familiar with orcs and if she was she should understand what an orc was. "I am orc and they aren't it is as simple as that." In truth that was the main reason but it was also because orcs were only truly gifted at battle and most other races hated them anyway. He wondered if all people were so clueless to not know why they attacked and killed.

Kia nodded. “Okay well where is the honor in killing just for the sake of killing? Your story was of a great battle. If you are attacked or protecting someone I can see great honor in that. If you merely kill because you can…” she shook her head slightly. “How would you feel about travelling with me? I do not like to fight but find myself under threat often. It would be nice to have one strong enough and brave enough to protect me.” Kia looked at him, wondering if he would be interested. “I have no qualms with you killing any who would attack us.”

Gorluk was about to argue he didn't kill for the sake of killing he did it because that was what he did just like an assassin, but he listened to her proposition. He scratched his dark and tangled beard and his eyes showed he was thinking deeply. "You know I would draw lots of attention on the road and you might have to go without be in a city." In truth he did want to go since she could keep him in the loop on what humans were doing and give him the opportunity to kill many more than he all ready could.

Kia nodded. “I don’t travel into the city to much. Villages from time to time but I try to avoid the cities because…” She looked down at herself and shrugged. “I look like easy prey to those seeking to do harm.” She rose and stretched seeing the sun lowering in the sky. “I’m tired and could use something more substantial than dried meat. Do you hunt? If you can find game, I can cook it.” Kia was capable of hunting but really didn’t like to.

Gorluk's deep and loud laugh cut through the forest scaring the hack out of the birds who all flew in panic. She had asked if he could hunt! If he Gorluk could hunt! It was to funny for him to comprehend all orc males were taught to hunt at a young age and he larger, stronger, and quicker than most loved it. He loved the challenge of chasing and stalking the prey. The feel of the chase always made his blood tingle in excitement. "Yes I can hunt but may I ask if you have a large dagger?"

Kia jumped as the large Orc laughed. She watched him as he seemed amused by her question. "Sorry. I didn't mean to disrespect you, I just didn't know." She reached down and lifted the skirt of her long dress to expose the leather boot she was wearing. Pulling out a large dagger, she looked at Gorluk and smiled. "Will this do?" She asked holding it out for him.

"No disrespect human I just thought it was funny!" Gorluk shook his head to throw away all his laughter and took the knife in her hand. He eyed it for a moment and nodded his head. "I think this might be acceptable, but I think I'll take my weapon too." With that he easily hefted his greatsword out of the ground and onto his back. " I'll be back later go about fifty feet that way," his hand holding the dagger pointed to a part of the forest roughly bent because of his large body,"till yo see a bed of stumps and start a fire." With that he was off.
Gorluk traveled around a hundred feet slowly before catching the scent of a large male deer. He bent down into a wary stance as he sniffed the air to catch the direction it was coming from. His head turned west and he cautiously stalked the animal. After a few moments his large eyes caught the sight of his prey and he grinned a wolfish grin. He felt the air around him and knew he was downwind and couldn't be smelled but his skin color might be a problem out in the open even if it was night. His large body lumbered over to a large and ancient tree thirty feet away. His purple skin was slightly hidden in the shadow so he took aim and fired the dagger,
The dagger hit the beast in the shoulder but it was blocked slightly by the bone and didn't kill. Gorluk saw the beast scamper but for a few moments it went in his direction and tried to turn back. Gorluk forgot his greatsword and quickly ran and charged the beast. His strong legs carried him the distance and with a lunge he tackled it. After a moment of struggle Gorluk's heavy hand gripped his head and snapped its neck. With the deep done and a couple of large bruises and a few cuts from the horns he picked up the large deer and hefted it over his shoulder as he walked back to the encampment.

Kia watched as the great Orc lumbered off rather gracefully for his large size. She rose hoisting the large pack up and hooking it over her shoulder. She started off in the direction Gorluk had indicated until she came upon a small clearing. Just as he had said, their were a large number of stumps surrounding the area. She gathered wood and some large stones to create a fire ring then gathered kindling, setting it beneath the small area beneath the tented firewood. Starting the fire proved tedious as she struck repeatedly with the flint to no avail. Finally the kindling began to smoke softly. Kia knelt down closer and blew softly feeding the small flame until the kindling glowed red and tiny flames gave birth to larger ones reaching up in rhythmic dance to the dark sky overhead. A snap of branches behind her caused her to rise with a start grabbing the staff beside her.

Gorluk pushed his way past the trees and his large and now clumsy feet braking a large stick under him. "Well its just me no need to get aggressive." He pushed his way until he was fully exposed and he showed her his trophy. He knew he was battered and bruised. With his dark purple skin tinted black in various parts, and he bleeding black blood over his body. He tossed the large male deer near her and didn't even watch it land but he sure heard it. That beast sure put up a heck of a fight even if it was so short. If it had been an orc his family would have been proud.

Kia glanced at Gorluk then frowned. “You’re hurt.” She said as she moved closer to him, lowering her staff back to walking position. She looked up at him and asked, “May I?” gesturing to his wounds.

Gorluk looked over his body and didn't see what the problem was. Of course he was bleeding and his purple skin was unusually darker than it should have been do to the hooves of the deer, but he had sustianed worse. "If you wish." Gorluk stood there wondering hat she was going to do since all orc shaman only gave treatment to wounds that couldn't be healed without help.

Kia smiled softly as she placed her hands on the chest of the large Orc. His skin felt cool to her touch as she closed her eyes and felt within him for injury. "It's not bad," she told him as her hands began to warm against his purple skin. The warmth spread as the golden glow enveloped her hands, spreading into the Orc. Slowly, the cuts and gashes from wrestling with the deer began to heal and close. She left scars in place over the wounds since the Orc seemed rather found of such signs of physical prowess.
Kia removed her hands from him and smiled as she turned to look at the deer carcass lying on the ground. She grimaced a little as she thought about the life that had been ended. "Can you clean it and save the hide Gorluk or is that the females job within the Orc culture?"

Gorluk felt her touch on his chest and he looked at her quizzically. Then he felt the warming sensations of healing magic. It felt good! A smile lit on his lips as his wounds healed painlessly even though it was a testament to your toughness to see how long you can carry your wound.
"Thank you for leaving the scars!" He touched them carefully happy to see they were real. Some orcs could use magic to heal but he had never been one to need it, though he sometime suffered horrendous wounds. His way was to do as nature wished and let everything be as it be. "Yes I can do that but you are right we normally let the women and children do the housework, and I must day its fair since males fight and hunt to protect and feed them."

Kia raised a brow as he said this. "In my tribe, the women battle as do the men." She moved to the fire, taking items to make a spit to roast the meat on. "The older ones look after the children. Raising the young ones is the responsibility of the whole tribe. The chores are shared by all." She smiled a little at Gorluk as she placed her staff back on the ground and moved to sit next to the fire.
"My role was different. I was the first empathic healer born into the tribe since the earliest days of its existence. No one was able to truly teach me how to deal with my empathic ability but they were able to teach me some about my healing power. I have had to learn much on my own and I still do not know the implications of it." She gazed into the fire as her mind took her far away to distant people and places.
