Gorluk turned from his eating to eye her as she laughed but shrugged his large shoulders and continued his meal. When she stopped he continued until only a little was left and his belly was filled to a good level. "Thanks," his meat hand clasped around the bottle and in a swig he finished it all. "Yeah I think I join ya, but were are you heading too?"

Kia smiled as she took the waterskin back from Gorluk shrugging lightly. “I really do mean it when I say I am following a star.” She shook her head as she heard herself speak it out loud. “I have a feeling inside of me that beckons me into the unknown. There is something that I am meant to do but I do not know what it is or where I am meant to be. I follow the star and deal with what the fates place before me learning their lessons along the way.” It seemed the most natural thing in the world to her but she realized it must sound strange to others. She raised her arm into the distance, her finger pointing the way. “That is the direction that I must go.” Kia withdrew two more waterskins from her pack and proceeded to refill them in the river.

Gorluk raised one of his bushy black eyebrows in confusion, but he sighed and accepted the answer. Who was he to question her especially since she was human. Now if she had been orc he would have slapped her upside the head and told her to do something with her life. "Eh your so called feeling better lead me to some fighting." His tone was gruff as he turned to the place she pointed at and let his large fingers go through his tangled beard. "When I'm done we can go."
Gorluk had to walk to the stream with her and pick up pieces of his armor and he continued to walk around pissing up other pieces he left out. Soon his massive arms were filled. As he drooped them down he put them all on piece by piece until he was covered in his spiky armor.

Kia took the filled waterskins and placed them back within her pack. She took a cloth, wrapping the rest of the dried deer meat tightly within it then moved to the trees to retrieve the deer skin. The skin was stiff and would need to be chewed over a long period to make it soft and pliable enough to wear or use for cover. She rolled the skin and placed it within the pack as well then returned to the fallen log to sit and watch as Gorluk gathered all of his pieces of armor and put them on. As he finished she smiled. “You are very handsome and fierce looking clad in that way.”

Gorluk looked at her for a moment and he finally couldn't stop his mouth from quivering and he burst into laughter. He looked at his body and his fierce armor and shook his head in laughter. He had considered himself fierce but only handsome to orc females but those conniving creatures would find a goblin cute if it had power. "If you say so."

Kia looked at him questioningly. “Why do you laugh? You find it strange that I can see the fine qualities which you possess?” She shook her head softly as she smiled. “There is much more to those we meet than what we immediately see. Every race, every creature within this world holds an infinite beauty within them. You just have to look with what is inside of you, not with your eyes.” She grinned back over at him again as she tilted her head. “And I do say so.” She turned and rose hoisting her pack over her shoulder and picking up her staff.

Gorluk shook his head and snorted at her talk. "You best keep your own ideals to yourself or you'll find yourself at ends with me and trust me that's not far away from my sword point." Gorluk was orc and a zealot he hated every creature on this earth and some more than others. With that he turned and picked up his greatsword and strapped it on and then started to walk away in the direction she pointed at.

Kia grinned widely as Gorluk snorted his terse reply. There was one way to get his attention and prove her point slightly. “I do not seek to push my ideals on you great one but by the same token I wish for you to look past what you see because things are not always as they seem. For instance…” Kia dropped the pack as she ran toward Gorluk, planting the staff firmly within the ground and vaulting over him. Kia curled herself into a ball, tapping the great Orc on the back hard to get his attention before she flipped and landed before him with her staff at the ready and well out of the length of his swing. “I do believe you would find it hard to get me on the point of your sword if I truly do not wish to be there.”

Gorluk wasn't paying attention to her as she talked but his head turned when he felt a tap on his armor. With a grunt he turned to see no one there and when he turned back he saw Kia in front of him. She was quick and agile so he gave her a grin that showed his large incisors. It was friendly as much as it was threatening.n "You would die eventually, but let us leave this talk."

Kia grinned widely as she moved to pick up her pack and hurried back to his side. She knocked him hard on the shoulder as she used the staff as a walking stick in her other hand. She looked at him, her amber brown eyes sparkling with mischief as looked into his eyes. “To die is but the next great adventure!” she told him as she ran off ahead of him jumping and twirling to unheard music within the air around her. Her laughter ringing out over the still morning air.

Gorluk shook his head at the female human who seemed so energetic. His large black eyes met her amber brown ones and he chuckled softly. If she kept acting like that she would start that great adventure sooner than she would want. "Eh whatever lets just hurry up I want a fight by the afternoon." He flexed his large shoulders and picked up the pace his large legs talking great strides. "Lest see how your little moves help you now."

Kia laughed at him as she turned. “Is it a faster pace you wish?” she asked him as she started off at a run. Kia could run great distances. A skill she acquired in her youth traversing the forests with Kyra. She pushed her sadness down. Her friend had gone with Kira to guard her in her new life.
She looked back over her shoulder as she continued to run ahead. “Gorluk, I have a favor. Teach me to wield a sword?”

Gorluk chuckled. Not at her statement but at the sheer happiness of physical exertion. He could continue this pace for a long time, but he loved the feel of the wind in his beard and on his thick face. His teeth shone but he skidded to a stop and put his hand out to stop Kia. "A sword... you want me to teach you how to to use a sword." He worked hard to keep the confusion out of his voice but failed.

Kia turned to look at him as he halted her. She heard the confusion in his voice. Kia shook her head softly. “Yes my friend. While I do not like violence, I am not naïve enough to believe the day won’t come when I will be forced to end another’s life. I do not wish to do so but as I have told you…I have a purpose within this life. I cannot begin the adventure that death would bring me until I have fulfilled that purpose.” She lowered her eyes to the ground as she leaned against her wooden staff. “I can move well and my staff is adequate to protect from most threats but…” she looked back up into his dark eyes. “You cannot fight steel with wood or agile movement. Eventually steel will find flesh.”

Gorluk listened to her reasoning and nodded his head accordingly. "Ah so you understand!" Gorluk chuckled and continued on the walk as he thought of what else to say. He was a warrior and a darn good one by most standings and his greatsword was the weapon he preferred, but she was human and a female. "I could but I might not be the best teacher. I am strong where you are agile, I am fast were you are quick, but I can make it work if it is what you wish."

Kia nodded softly as she sighed. “It is not my wish but is a necessity. I will not carry a sword but I will know how to use one if you are willing Gorluk.” She turned and began off again in the direction her destiny led. She closed her eyes as she felt strong emotions ahead of them. Her shoulders, normally held proud as she walked, drooped as she looked out ahead. “Seems you get your chance Gorluk. I feel treachery, hate, and murderous intent ahead. I would guess bandits.”

Gorluk nodded in accord but then put on a startled expression. "Bandits, this close to orc territory?" He lifted his great head to the air and took a couple sniffs but the scent was to mixed for him to tell anything. If she hadn't told him he would have missed them until they were to close. "Can you tell the races?"

Kia shrugged her shoulders softly as she shook her head. “No I’m sorry I cannot. I just feel the emotions as clearly as I can see you before me. She continued to walk shifting the pack to her other shoulder. She held the staff loosely within her hand as she began to steel herself from the intense emotions.

Gorluk shook his head at her answer. He couldn't know if he had to fight them if they weren't orcs or if they were another race he could freely kill them. "Well that doesn't help! Can't you shift through them and kind of use your information of the races to see which one they fit too?"

Kia closed her eyes as she continued to walk. Her mind sorting through the jumble of emotions, her path remaining true. She opened them and told Gorluk. "They are human." as she continued to walk. Kia gripped her staff lightly within her hand.
