Gorluk smiled widely. "Good, now I get some killing in." Gorluk took out his greatsword and as he tilted it side to side it flashed in the sun. "You'll learn a little if you take some notes." Gorluk closed his eyes and went into a small meditation. He wanted to reach the orc battle lust inside of him. "Tell me when we get to them." His voice was thick and hust bordering on rage as he worked up his fury.

Kia continued her steady march into the waiting bandits. She appeared oblivious to the fact that they were near, surrounding them but in reality she knew exactly where they were. Slight movements within the trees, long grasses not moving though the breeze was blowing hard enough to cause them to bend slightly, the smell of ale and sweat all gave away their positions. She motioned to Gorluk to make ready and then without warning the bandits descended upon them. Kia dropped her pack and fell into a low crouch, her staff at the ready.

Gorluk's senses were dulled at this point and he needed Kia to guide him. His whole mind was being encompassed in orc battle fury. When he was done with his meditation they would be at their max just like him. In a battle it would descend in an instant but battle wasn't happening now so he had to go into a meditative stance. He barely noticed Kia motioning him, but soon he was ready.
His large black eyes snapped open and his greatsword came out of its neutral position. He roared angrily at the nearest bandits and his sword came down splitting through armor and bone. Another roar and his large bulk rammed into another pile of people. He was a fighting without any type of plan just punching kicking and slicing. This was the orc way. Even he who treasured intelligence and tactical fighting enjoyed this when he could.

Kia watched as Gorluk tore through the bandits. She herself kept mainly kept to blocking the attacks of the bandits as they got close to her. If she could help it, she would not kill. Her patience, however, was starting to be sorely tested as two of the bandits managed to evade her, grabbing her by the arms and pinning them back. She dropped the staff and felt her anger rising within her. As another approached her from the front, she waited until he was close enough. Without warning, Kia kicked forward, striking the man beneath the chin and used the momentum to carry her forward and over so she stood behind them. She flipped the staff with her foot, catching it within her hand and proceeded to engage the two.

Gorluk finished off two more with a horizontal swipe. Both men were walking without torsos now. His laughter shook the forest as he continued to search for more pray. The humans weren't stupid though. They noticed that their blows only got so far and when they did get through the armor the orc shrugged them off like bee stings. A half a dozen men looked at him and ran the way they came. But Gorluk wouldn't be denied!"Get back here to yellow bellied, soon of a dwarf, cowards!" Gorluk looked at Kia thinking she would be okay and ran after the running bandits.

Kia caught Gorluk chasing off after the fleeing bandits from the corner of her eye but her attention remained on the bandits facing her. She sighed softly as she fought with the two. Violence of this sort always baffled her. She hit the man on her right with the end of her staff and quickly jabbed behind her as the third tried to approach her from behind. She twirled the staff within her hands and planted the end into the ground. She swung herself, using the staff to gain enough lift to vault over the heads of the two and landed behind them. Now all of her assailants were once again before her.

Gorluk's great strides more than matched the bandits and his bulk cleared the way for him. Tree branches and other obstacles were ripped away as he charged the humans."Come and play fools!" Gorluk soon came upon a clearing and stopped in his tracks. "D**m!" He had been lead into a trap. Thirty humans now encircled him."Now now guys lets be reasonable." He held up on and in peace but an arrow flew out in hit his shoulder. "Guess not." He roared and as he faked to the left he tackled the right side.

Kia continued to fight with the men though the time could have been better spent traveling. She drew a breath and with strong resolve, proceeded to down them one by one. As the men lay unconscious, she gathered rope from within her pack and tied them tightly. Knots was one thing she was skilled at. She searched them for weapons and placed her find into the pack before going in the direction she had seen Gorluk.

Gorluk grunted as another couple weapons came crashing down on his rapidly moving form. He had to move as fast as he could for fear of being overwhelmed. His greatsword did keep most of them back though. None of them wanted to meet the grisly fate the first few humans had met. They had been chopped up into large hunks of meet and some of the bandits around him held deep cuts from his blade. "Cowards!" Gorluk was tired of waiting. He charge into their group but this time timing his moves so he wouldn't get caught. He measured each of his thrust and blocks trying to out fight and out think his opponents.

Kia saw Gorluk in the middle of a large fray. The orc though did not appear in any danger as he easily handled himself. She stood, perched against her staff just watching. She would study how he used his sword and the way the men tried to surround and over power him. Her eyes took in everything, committing it to memory.

Gorluk sighed as another sword slammed against his side. He was getting tired of this and bored. He lifted his sword up and began to fully unleash his fury. He swung his greatsword to the right but reversed his grip and changed the direction. Then he charged into the middle and continued killing. Soon he was done and he looked up at Kai. "You could have helped."

Kia grinned at Gorluk as she shook her head. “And have you angry because I interfered when you had everything well in hand. I don’t think so.” She moved closer to him as she saw the dark purple oozing around some of his armor. “Do you need to be healed?” she asked him concerned.

Gorluk laughed happily. He knew that was probably true and that he would have said those exact words. Hearing her words though confused him and then he looked down at his black armor now tinged with his blood. Some dried and others still flowing freely. "These I'll keep." He had used to much healing in a short time and it felt weak to him. "We go now." With that he strapped his greatsword on and trudged after her.

Kia trotted along, happily following the path as it revealed itself before her. She looked over her shoulder occasionally at the large orc, smiling to herself as she pondered the twists her life had taken since leaving her village. They travelled uneventfully the rest of the day, making good time and avoiding the small cities by design. As they entered a dense forest, Kia stopped and tilted her head to one side. A small smile crept to her lips as her eyes scanned the foliage. Ten pairs of glowing golden eyes gleamed out from the shadows as she looked about the darkened forest. The sun had not yet set but their travels had taken them deep within and the canopies of the trees grew tightly intertwined blocking all but the strongest of the suns rays.
Kia motioned to Gorluk the proceeded to walk into the center of a clearing and knelt down on the pine and leaf strewn ground. She closed her eyes as she reached out to the animals watching them intently. Feelings of calm and welcome emanated from her as she felt curiosity returning to her. The wolves bared their teeth, lips curled back into tight snarls as they regarded the intruders into their domain. Kia held steady as one broke through the brush bearing down on her but stopping abruptly just inches from her face. She opened her eyes and met those of the wolf. Kia smiled softly until the low growls quieted. The wolf’s mouth relaxed and her eyes held Kia’s with question. Kia embraced the wolf within her mind letting her feelings wash over her. “She has pups close Gorluk. Come sit but move slowly. Do not move to harm her. She is a possible friend.”

Gorluk easily followed Kia but that wasn't the thing tiring him. She wasn't running or fighting and his bones grew weary without constant excitement. He sighed angrily as the day carried on with the same thing happening again and again. Nothing. Finally his senses caught on to the scent of wolf markings and knew they were in their territory and also knew when they entered the clearing that they were near.
He wanted to warn Kia but he had a feeling she already knew and he didn't want to disturb what she was doing but he let his dominance show. His teeth were slightly bared but not threateningly and his eyes didn't widen nor narrow. "I'll stand."
